i know this has probably been asked before, but I want to upgrade my memory to 3gb, but what would be a solid company to buy from, one that is obviously compatible and has no problems with the tiger os...??

thanks-

Solid companies that just sell products? Newegg

Solid companies for the RAM manufacturers themselves? Crucial, G.Skill, Corsair, OCZ

Yeah go with Newegg. They have great deals on stuff and have really fast shipping. Thats where I will be getting my memory from if you can upgrade to 4 gigs. Can you add 4 GIG to the 2.33Ghz version of the MBP? I have the 17inch one with 3 gigs already but need as much as possible (I am using all 3 gigs when I am rendering stuff in FCS2). Just wondering.

Definitely check out Newegg. There are some amazing prices for memory over there, and the service is just outstanding. I've been shopping with Newegg for years and I always go there first if I ever need computer hardware. In fact, I've gotta head over there right now and get some blank DVD-Rs :D

no the max i can add is 3 gb, but i have heard that it is most beneficial when the slots are paired, but mine will have to be 2 and 1, will that make a significant difference when installed??? or will 3gb be sweet and run well either way ???

-thanks

If you search around, you'll find a ton of threads about memory in the Macbook Pro. I know for a fact that I've answered questions similar to yours at least a half dozen times in other threads. Not trying to be rude, but just saying that a simple search will give you all the information you're looking for.
