Master.password; No such file or directory error

I'm troubleshooting an error on a Mac that runs 9.2 and OS X (don't know which version - troubleshooting remotely). Unfortunately all the info I have is that they're getting the error "Master.password; No such file or directory."
What does this mean and what steps can I take to resolve the issue? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
