Making a media center out of the G5...

Hi,

I just moved into my new flat and im thinking about getting a Mac 30" HD LCD screen. the size is perfect and the quality is amazing. Though i have some questions: I have a dual 2Ghz G5, and i wanted to know know if it was possible to watch TV, and HD TV on my mac. And if i have extra satellite channels, is there a way to plug them up to my mac? Is there a remote controll that i can get? And is there a way to plug an xbox or a PS2 onto the 30" screen. How is the quality when watching TV on the Mac LCD screens?

I know all this is too much to do with your mac, but it would be very cool if i could. I mean Sony already came up with stuff like that. Having a 30" Mac LCD screen is just part of the deco cos its so nice.

I'll assume you have a graphics card that supports the 30" display.

Not sure what wacthing TV would be like on that display. I think it might possibly be a bit crap though as standard TV, Satalite and Cable broadcast at the very low resolution of 720 x 576. However HD content would look beautiful on the Disaply!

I'm not aware of any DH TV devices, but for everything else you asked for, here are some options:

You'll be bale to play the consoles on the big display, using any of the above devices, but the quality won't be great. The only thing that allows you to get the best resolution out of your PS2 or XBOX is a VGA adapter, but it doesn't support DVI connection so you'll need a VGA to DVI cable too.
