If you look at the tip of the plug, you'll see five prongs. Those prongs are spring-loaded so that they push against the contacts on your computer snugly. Sometimes these prongs can stay pushed in a little too much and not contact the area on your laptop. If you take a toothpick and gently push each of them in a little bit and then let them pop back out, that should free them up enough to work properly again. Don't push them all the way back in. Just push them back enough to see that they have movement. If this doesn't work, your adapter may be faulty and need to be replaced.
