"can you provide the model year of your iMac?" iMac Retina 5K, 27 inch, 2017 "I believe the keyboard is a Magic Keyboard, and the cable can be disconnected from the keyboard also." Your question reminded me: This iMac came with a Bluetooth keyboard (a Magic Keyboard?) as well as the Magic Mouse 2. That is undoubtedly the keyboard that appears at About This Mac>System Report...>Hardware>Bluetooth>Devices. I suppose it shows up even though I am not using it because apparently, in some sense, the Magic Mouse 2, which I am using, is "technically" part of or an aspect of the Magic Keyboard. I used the original keyboard only a day or so. For me, it is too small, and I missed the numbers pad at the right, which I use regularly. I purchased an Apple USB-connected keyboard that is laid out more comfortably (for me) and has a numbers pad. It is not Bluetooth. It has no switch on it. On the chance that, if I were using the Magic Keyboard, the mouse's battery level notification function would appear, I put the Magic Keyboard into use, but I found nothing about "notifications" except at System Preferences>Keyboard>Shortcuts>Mission Control, there is an option Notifications Center, but following that lead, there seems to be nothing about battery level warnings. So, again, I conclude that Magic Mouse 2 battery level pop-ups are out, which is okay. I will simply check the level regularly.
