[QUOTE="stefanmaine, post: 1809074, member: 197051"] Thanks to all. Your posts prompted me to look deeper. At System Preferences>Bluetooth, what's displayed is "Magic Keyboard". The mouse is not shown. I have an Apple keyboard that connects by USB cable. It is not Bluetooth. When I unplug that cable, the keyboard stops working, but at System Preferences>Bluetooth, "Magic Keyboard" continues to display even if I close the display and reopen it. That suggests to me that my iMac thinks my MM2 is a Keyboard. At About This Mac>System Report...>Hardware>Bluetooth>Devices, Magic Keyboard is listed, Magic Mouse 2 is not. However, among the listed characteristics of "Magic Keyboard" are Minor Type: Mouse, Services: Magic Mouse 2. That sounds like Magic Mouse 2 is a sub-division of Magic Keyboard, at least on this iMac. ferrarr wrote "“The only way to know definitively, would be to let the batteries run out all the way, or down to 4%.” What has happened to me (twice, which generated this post) is the mouse simply goes dead, and no notification. Now that I know I can check battery level regularly, and thus avoid a surprise mouse death, I am okay, although a pop-up warning would be nice.
