Here's some additional info from Apple regarding the supplemental update:

There's little detail on what's included in today's update, but Apple's release notes say that it "improves the security of macOS" and is recommended for all users.

According to a support document, it addresses a vulnerability that could allow remote attacker to "cause unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution."

I have already downloaded and installed the update on both of my Macs (already have recent SuperDuper! backups for both machines, done this past Saturday).

Hardly a day goes by without something new to update. This afternoon I noted a telltale numeral 1 on Settings on my iPhone. I was a bit surprised about that because i was already running the beta version of iOS 13.1 however there it was. iOS 13.1 update (already downloaded) so just the Install button to press. After install i realised there are a few little things to complete on the production release, such as setting up the Wallet, verifying my payment method for the App Store and agreeing to the EULA.

Next I notice the is an update notification next to System Preferences under tha Apple Menu on my MBP which turns out to be the macOS Mojave Supplemental Update 2 Safari 13.0.1

Then after being told on iTunes during a sync today that my iPadOS was up to date I see the same little numeral 1 on the Settings app and sure enough its the public release of iPadOS 13.1, already downloaded and awaiting my click to install.

Technically is is the third supplemental update (build 18G103). Previously, there were two supplemental updates under the same build number (build 18G95).

All very necessary, I've no doubt, but still a bit of a pain. This latest one took a short time to download, but 30 minutes to install.:Mischievous:

So true! I had just gotten a new router plugged in, and changed the Network Name and password on our wireless devices, when I noticed the Safari update. Then my productivity suite tells me something was available to download... Seems like it never ends!

I'll just stay using what works for me and let you bleeding-edge users try and figure out all the latest OS Updates, some of which seem to be rather confusing considering some of them are actually seemingly using the same name and version.

I sense a bit of a few problems forming on the horizon with this latest MacOS Update.

I suspect many of us are now stuck in between.

Reminders does not seem to interface correctly to macOS once iPhone or iPad have been updated to iOS13 (or iPadOS13). However, lots of things will stop working on a Mac if we update to Catalina.

I sure wouldn't call it being "stuck", but maybe a "choice", and I only have an iPad 3 to sort of keep up to date and synced along with my 2011 iMac, and I just prefer using Mavericks for some of the OS and application features it conyains and retained and the later versions dropped.

I also went through the list of "new features" all the later OS X versions have added the last few years and I couldn't find anything that looked like I really wanted to use or were even improved. Actually I was rather surprised about the lack of anything actually really new to use or if I really wanted to use.

Yeah, I have not seen anything earth shattering in any of the last 3 or 4 releases of the Mac OS. And even Catalina offers me nothing that compels me to download it right away (I always wait until at least the .2 release anyway). But the main reasons I keep up to date with the Mac OS are 1) continued support with Security Updates, and 2) third party companies offering upgrades based on the latest version of the Mac OS.

However, I understand why some folks stick with older versions of the Mac OS.
