The MacBook Pro 13" in question is from 2013, currently running with version 10.12.6 (macOS Sierra), currently has ~36GBs available on the 250GB drive.

Clicking on the "Software Update..." shows no update is available.

So far, the MacBook has been rebooted, shutdown, and the NVRAM reset. Neither of them resolved the issue. Is there options to fix this, other than downloading the High Sierra from the AppStore?
TIA...

Well, 10.12.6 is the most recent version of Sierra, I think, so I'm not sure what the "issue" is that you need fixed. Since HS was released, there are no new versions of Sierra.

If you mean you want to upGRADE to HS, then yes, you have to download it from the App Store. It's not an update to 10.12, but an upgrade to 10.13.

Thanks Jake...

Yes, I meant upgrading to HS...

I seems to recall that the previous versions had no issues with showing up in the "Software Update..." and installing just fine. To my recollection, the update/upgrade from the Al Capitan to Sierra, and previous versions, had no separate download requirements.

Download/install, or rather upgrade, not really an issue, it's just confusing that it's not being available within the software update....

Not that way any longer. You have to look under "Apple products" and it should be on the first page you encounter when opening the Mac App Store.

Apple changed the process. I think it’s been that way since Sierra.

That is correct. Also to add... Sierra has been removed from App Store.

And your hard drive is getting a little too full. Time to go through and give it a good clean out of old unused items.

Thanks guys...

I don't use the App Store much, but did download and installed High Sierra without any issues, other than it took about a half an hour to complete. And yes, I do have a bootable USB drive with Sierra...

The one noticeable difference from macOS Sierra, other than the file system, is the available storage:

That's an ~8GB increase of available storage when compared to Sierra. The system does have Onyx2 and Sierra had Onyx, so, it's unlikely that this size increase is due to this tool.

It seems that High Sierra is a pretty good clean up tool...
