How do I stop the constant MacKeeper ads that keeping showing up on my desktop on my macbook pro?

What did you download lately? It's possible something you downloaded, perhaps a trial copy of a program has an attached MacKeeper Ad. MacKeeper is not malware but it's considered to be "junkware" by most folks here.

Or even worse ~ crapware.

Have you selected "Block Pop-Up Windows" under Safari in the Menu Bar? If that is not enough AdBlocker Plus may be the go.

Also make sure Safarai > Preferences > General >Open safe files at the foot of the page is NOT selected!
