I downloaded Adobe flash player on my macbookair so I can watch youtube and other videos. The performance of the macbookair slowed and battery life diminished dramatically and I uninstalled the flash drive.
I'd like to keep the flash player so I can watch Youtube and other things that require it but don't want to lose the performance and battery life. I am wondering if I download the flash player and copy it to a thumb drive (then remove it from the macbookair hard drive) and insert the thumb drive in the macbookair will it work to look at youtube. Or - must the flash player be installed on the hard drive.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Try using Click To Flash that way it will only run when you need it or on specific sites you frequent that require it put it on the white list.
