I can't figure out why booting from the disk won't work because i've tried the Apple Hardware Test (the extended test in loop mode) many times. It has never found any errors other than the first time i ran it without the battery in. It gave me a 4SNS/1/40000000: TBOT error. This has to do with a temperature sensor in the battery i guess. I bought another hard drive for the mac and replaced the old one and tried everything again. I still cant boot from the disc (I'm not sure why i thought this would make a difference). I have experienced this problem before. I always dismissed it due to the fact that its a refurbished system. I've never had anytrouble reistalling the OS before. For some reason trying to boot from the CD gives me a kernel panic. Could something be wrong with the motherboard? Is this a result of overheating? How do i go about approaching this? Is it worth fixing or should i just scavange for parts and sell the rest? I don't care about losing memory I'd just like to get it working again if possible.</p></blockquote><p></p>
