Ya sweet. I just got that deal. I am flipping the Nano for 185. The only thing that sucks is you have to pay the tax on the unit and dont get it back from Apple.

I bought the MacBook Pro with the Nano. What makes this such a great deal is adding the education discount on it too.

About the rebate, I sent my rebate in about a month ago and I am still waiting. I received an email from Apple and it said they received my rebate but it may take 6-8 weeks. Not sure if this means 6-8 MORE weeks or just 6-8 weeks in total.

I've had a few people ask me about if they should wait until Leopard and I said, well you either get an iPod for free or Leopard for free.

Enjoy your computer.

I heard Leopard is going to push the retail price up about 100 or 80 with edu discount when it released. Anyone else heard anything similar?

Prices should stay the same when Leopard releases.

I recently got my printer "companion" rebate, took about 2 weeks from the day I sent it. Very fast for a mail-in rebate.

Anyone know what the approx. retail value of the printer is? I didnt take it because I thought it would be too hard to flip. Maybe I should go back and grab the printer as well.

Thanks,

The one I got the HP C4280 which is $99 at the Apple store, I think the other was a Canon at the same price. I chose the HP because it was an all in one and I was in dire need of a new printer anyway. The "companion" printer rebate is $100 so those two are free. However you can choose another more expensive printer and the rebate still applies.

Hey guys wondering if you could help me out here with a little query.

I am getting my MacBook Pro as soon as my credit card comes through to help pay for it, I've been saving for a while with wages from work (I don't get paid alot, lol) and I have heard about these offers you get with your student discount!

I will get the MBP 2.2GHz for about £1200. Now I would like to take advantage of getting the iPod with it. So would I pay £1200 and get a free iPod or would I have to pay like £1379 (iPod I want is £179 with student discount) and then wait to get the money back?

Hope you can all help! Thanks!

It is a rebate. You have to pay for it up front, then get the reimbursement later.

Put it on the credit card. If you mail in the rebate the same day you purchase your computer you'll have the rebate back before the credit card bill is due. That's what happened in my situation.

I sent in my rebates for the printer and ipod at the same time....they received the printer rebate along with UPC but they never received the iPod rebate...so I called and I had to send in the copies of the upc and receipt...I had to send it certified mail to make sure they got it....b/c it was almost expired then.

I just got the Printer rebate yesterday in the mail....took less than a month....so I am hoping the same with the iPod rebate.

They said if they did not accept the iPod rebate (b/c I sent in copies as the originals were 'lost') I would have to fill out an affidavit saying I sent them in and it had to be notarized. They just processed the iPod rebate yesterday so we will see what happens.

I sent in both of my rebates recently but I only got an email saying my printer rebate is being processed but there is nothing on my ipod rebate yet.

I was wondering how were you able to find someone to speak to? what was the number you dialed?

I tried calling the apple promo number but there was nothing in the menu that allowed me to speak to someone.

do you actually have to send in your back up copies by the promo deadline as well? and within 30 day of purchase?

thanks for your help!

I really don't know why the ipod rebate is delayed since they were both mailed out together.
