Hey there, Im having some issues getting my mac to mount my 320gb Acomdata usb drive. It mounts fine on the PC (its what i used it for before I went mac) but I have reformatted back and forth from FAT32 to ntsf and its now in FAT32 and still nothing. I know that sometimes mac's wont auto mount passworded drives but I have completely wiped the drive into one partition and it is now just a hard drive without the "CDPart" and STILL nothing....but it pops up in windows(on my PC) as quick as a flick....but nowhere to be seen in disk utility or desktop on mac.
please help me before i fix it myself with a hammer!:|
I have a Macbook pro 15" 2.8ghz 4gb ram 500gb hd thats a week old....if that helps.......still lots to figure out.
And the EXT Drive is about two years old and still works fine but only for PC......(farting sound with mouth)

If it is a 2.5" drive connecting via USB then it may not be getting enough power through the USB on the Mac.
There is quite a variation between machines but laptops generally are worse for this than desktops.
2.5" drives often come with double headed USB cables to get around this issue.
