MacBook Pro 2014 restarting randomly when connected to monitor My MacoBook Pro 15" Mid 2014 running OSX 10.9.4 has the same problem: The computer actually shuts down and reboots - no error - no warning - just all of a sudden it's re-started itself and will require me to login again. The computer offers me the option to reopen apps that were open before the crash. This happens after I have used the computer's screen and then a day or 2 later connected it to the external monitor (a Dell that has worked with my last 3 MacBook pro's perfectly, connected through the Mac's HDMI to DVI adapter) and USB kbd / trackball. Usually happens within an hour (can be 10 min up to 60 min or not at all until a different day). I saw the original thread had an error log, which I will copy next time the computer restarts. The image I get is the one on this page: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT200553?viewlocale=en_US I am guessing it is the same problem that WilliamBeau had with his graphics card. Trying to decide the best way to get Apple to address the problem without giving them my computer for days or a week. Ideas?? Thanks!
