So i have decided to replace my Macbook Pro 15" hard drive. It is a Unibody I bought in October 2009.

I am positive something is wrong with it.

Over the last year I have done numerous restores after formating the hard drive because of freezing issues (noticed mainly to due with torrents checking or saving large files). It was freeze and eventually not boot.

This time I have encountered a NODE error.

Harddrive wise.

I am thinking a 2.5" Sata 500 Gig 7200 RPM. Can anyone recommended anything suitable hard drives? I have no idea brand wise?

Anything I need to look out for??

Much appreciated.

James.

I always recommend the drives sold by Other World Computing. They're Mac specialists and have excellent customer service and an 800 number you can call. Here is the LINK.

thanks.

I am in Australia but i can get the same type of hard drives from suppliers here i presume.

What the difference's between: Hitatchi vs Seagate vs Western Digital

And i presume 7200 would be the best option?

OWC will gladly ship to Australia via air. Many of your fellow countrymen have used OWC, BTW.

As far as any difference between WD, Seagate, and Hitachi; all three are good quality hard drives. Your choice, and yes, buy one that spins at 7200 RPM for better performance.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)

Yep we do :)
(I'm in QLD)

Works out cheaper including postage than it does from local suppliers, online or in retail stores, especially with the strength of our $ at the moment.
OWC is a great choice as far as customer service and quality.
