I have a small office network with several PCs and two MacBook Pros. All of the PCs can connect to the WEB but the the MacBook Pros cannot. The network = Cable modem to Sonicwall WIFI/Ethernet firewall to ethernet connections to all computers. One MacBook Pro can connect tot he WEB if I cable it around the firewall directly to the cable modem. The other will not connect direct to the cable modem or thru the firewall. Is there some special setting in the PowerBook Pros that needs to be changed to be able to connect either thru the firewall or directly to the cable modem. Both Macs indicate that they connect to the network, but cannot get thru to the WEB.

Sounds like a DNS problem. Go to Network Prefs. Make sure ethernet is the top connection method (drag to top). Add one or two known good DNS servers:
OpenDNS: 208.67.220.220 or 208.67.222.222
Google Public DNS: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

Does that work?
