After some struggle I got the OS installed on a memory stick - it downloaded to the internal hard drive - and it now boots up. Now, how to restore the OS on the internal hard drive and save/use the data? When I boot up using the memory stick I get a working computer. But its a temporary solution as any reboot will delete any data. The original hard disk is inaccessible. What will be a command/procedure to bring it up (there's nothing wrong with it) and restore the OS to its original location?</blockquote>
