Hi!

Sorry for bumping up an old thread, but I have the exact same problem..

I had just installed Bootcamp, and was flashing the Firmware, where out of nowhere, my system just shut down, and Now this happens..

When I rebooted my computer, it didnt boot.
No display on Screen, and I could only hear a Clicking sound from the DVD-RW Drive (It stops when a CD is in it).

No boot at all.
Tried booting pressing C and D.
I also tried Removing the battery and keeping it for an Hour, still same issue.

I dont know whats wrong. I just cant get it to boot.

I can put CDs in and remove Cds as well though :S.

have you tried booting from the install disks? put disk 1 into the drive, restart while holding down the "c" key. i believe there are some hard ware tests you can do in there.

also if it is a software problem, it might be solved by doing an archive install, in which you shouldn't lose any of your data. but wait until someone else chimes in with input because there may be another way to fix it. i don't know about the disk drive, but a lot of times when a hard drive goes/ is going bad, they will make odd noises and sometimes clicking sounds. hopefully its no big deal!
