macbook doesn't start

Hi,

I am not so long a mac user, till now I was happy I became one, but...
The macbook just doesn't start. It was sent to sleep, as usual, but I couldn't wake it up. After restart, it starts humming, the sleep indicator light goes up (not blinking, it's on continously) but the screen stays black, cd doesn't eject, external monitor sees no signal.
Any hints?

Oddly enough, about the same thing happened to my Macbook on its first day out of the box. I called Apple and they sent me a box to ship it back for repairs / replacement. Box came and the instructions said to make sure it was turned off. Touched the macbook for the first time in 24 hours or so and it kicked right back on.

To this day I haven't the foggiest as to what happened. However, I suspect that it was on and the battery drained completely forcing a powerdown on the system. Try letting it run all the way down on power, plug it in and restart. (that is, after calling tech support)
