I just recently purchased a MacBook and it is my only computer in my house. I was wondering if I buy AirPort Extreme or another wireless router can I use it without having another computer hooked up to the router all the time. Or does there have to be a computer hooked up to it? Thanks.

I use a D-Link G604T ADSL router and i don't have to hook it up to another computer to work. Your computer will work just fine wirelessly. Just make sure that you create a security password using WAP. If you but a router, it would be good to have one that is WAP2 capable for this one is more secure in preventing your neighbours from using your network.
