I have MBA model no. A1466. (out of warranty)
From past few days it's backlight has suddenly started Flickering. At first, frequency is very low but later it increases and then eventually the screen goes black.
I've tried resetting smc and PRAM but in vain.
Any ideas ?

The backlight for your MacBook Air is LED fed. The cable(s) that feed the display including the backlight originate on the logic board. There may be a loose connection or possibly even a pinching off of the cable occuring because of the opening and closing of the top lid. You can try to trouble shoot it yourself by looking at the take apart instruction at iFixit: The Free Repair Manual or, if you not comfortable with taking apart your MBA, take it to the nearest Apple Store. An Apple Store genius bar will diagnose the problem for free and it will be up to you if you wish to repair it.
