hello guys ,
so my MacBook Air was working fine ,then I I let my daughter use it ! when I opened it and turned it on I could hear 3 clicks from behind the esc button in intervals . I checked it out online and it said it is a fan jam and to tap the Mac above the esc key which actually worked and dislodged the fan I'm guessing . but ever since the Mac has been working slow , basically unusable! I assume its an overheating issue and was thinking it maybe thermal paste ??? I honestly don't know . I had dr cleaner installed and it tells me that the cpu is at 100% all the time and doesn't drop usage . if anyone could help that would be great thanks.

If you feel comfortable about opening your MacBook Air (MBA), take a look at, https://www.ifixit.com/Device/MacBook_Air, and find your model. It may be easy enough to open it up, and clear the jam yourself.

If the CPU really is at 100%, then go to the Utilities Folder, start Activity Monitor and see what is running that is taking up 100% of the CPU. You can sort the items on the CPU tab by percent so that the heavy hitters are at the top.

Suggest it may well be a game or some such thing that she just closed the window without quitting the application.

You can just press Command and Tab together to show all running apps. You can quit any of them from that view by hovering the cursor over one then swap one finger from tab to Q while still holding Command. That should quit the app without leaving the view.
Alternatively you can try Force Quit from the Apple Menu.
