so, I have a MacBook Air 13" late 2010 model with a logic board supporting 2GB of RAM. A few weeks ago 1GB of RAM crapped out on me. Needless to say the performance of the computer dropped to just about nothing, it would boot and load and that was about it. Internet usage was almost impossible, every now and then a full page would load. So I decided to spend the money to replace the Logic Board with an upgraded version. 2.13 Ghz and 4GB of RAM. Got the Logic board and installed it everything went smooth. THEN....

I turned on my computer to find a folder flashing with a question mark. Tried to do boot recovery and the whole shebang, nothing worked there is no hard drive being detected and nothing to boot from. I was able to hold down the option/alt key during start up to get the the WIFI bar but nothing above it. It would just hook up to WIFI. I remembered that I had a hard copy of snow leopard laying around somewhere. I grabbed that to install it and boom, the disk shows up along with the WIFI bar again, so I click it and try to install, about 2 minuted in a circle with a slash shows up.

I have no idea what to do from this point? I can't even hold down d to check diagnostics to see if anything is damaged on the board or the hard drive. I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO TURN!!! to be honest im just more frustrated than anything, I need any advice on what to do and or how to fix this issue I would greatly appreciate it.

It wasn't mentioned (but just to be sure)...was the original logic board in your the 2010 MacBook Air the 1.86Ghz version?

I turned on my computer to find a folder flashing with a question mark. Tried to do boot recovery and the whole shebang, nothing worked there is no hard drive being detected and nothing to boot from.

The term "hard drive" was mentioned...so we should be perfectly clear on this. Starting with the 2010 MacBook Air's (this model)...the ONLY internal storage option was flash/SSD storage (no hard drives). If this computer originally had a hard drive...then it's not a 2010 model (or newer). 2006, 2008, and 2009 MacBook Air's did have the option of a "spinner HD" for internal storage.

Assuming this is a 2010 MacBook Air...the old logic board would have have a removable flash-memory board...and for the new logic board to have any onboard storage...this flash-memory board would have had to been swapped from the old logic board to the new logic board.

If the new logic board just so happened to have included onboard storage already installed...then the flashing question mark is due to no bootable OS installed.

One additional comment regarding the Snow Leopard disk the OP tried to use.

AFAIK, the latest SL install disk that Apple sold was 10.6.3
According to EveryMac.com, this MacBook Air was originally shipped with 10.6.4, so there is a good chance the 10.6.3 disk cannot be used to install a new OS.
That would also be confirmed by the circle with the slash the OP reported when trying to use that install disk.
