Macbook Air 13' 2012 : no more backlight

Hello,

I have a mid-2012 MacBook Air (A1466) whose backlight does not work anymore. We see that the screen still works by illuminating the apple on the back of the screen and the MacBook works well on external screen.

I would like to know what are the components that could be replacing to solve this problem.

It's possible the backlight fuse has blown on the logic board. Bob gave you the link to the ifixit site and that should help. The fuse is not like an ordinary fuse; it looks more like a very small resistor, so be careful. Also, soldering or desoldering is very difficult on those boards.

Can you tell me which fuse is the backlight fuse?
Can you see if the backlight fuse has blown?

Did you look at ifixit.com? 80% of your picture is the battery, which will also need to be removed to reveal the rest of the motherboard/logicboard. See here, https://www.ifixit.com/Device/MacBook_Air_13"_Mid_2012.

Again, Bob is correct. You need to be able to remove the battery which is a difficult task before you can see the Logic Board. Also, you can not usually see by eye if the backlight fuse is blown. You would need to use an ohm meter or something that can measure continuity to tell if the fuse is open or blown. If your machine is no longer under warranty, it's probably a good idea to take it to an authorized Apple repair service and have it looked at. Or, you can take it to an Apple Store genius bar.
