Macbook 2,1 Screen Suddenly Distorted, Psychedelic

Hello,
I turned on my Macbook 2,1 and—for no apparent reason—the contrast and color of the screen is now very distorted/solarized/psychedelic. Though the contents of the screen are barely legible, it is possible to poke around and see that, apparently, none of the other functions of the computer seem to have been affected except the look of the screen.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Attach an external monitor or TV set to the MacBook and see if the same thing is displayed on the external monitor. Let us know. You'll need a Mini DVI adapter (DVI or VGA) plus whatever cable that goes to your external monitor or TV. (DVI or VGA)
