Mac Yosemite Office 2011 constant crash

Hey so, Office 2011 no longer works on my Mac. Im running the latest version of Yosemite. I've tried reinstalling, fixing some java issue, installing a past update, reinstalling again, but nothing seems to work.

Every time I try to open Excel or Word or any other Office program it instantly crashes, choosing reopen also causes an instant crash. I've also tried removing the plist files for office, and that has not worked either. There is an error I am getting: this one is for excel, but the same goes for word:

P.S. I've tried to find Microsoft forums, but the website was ***-backwards and I couldn't find it so I came here. And the official apple forums would not let me post, even though I have an account, so I came here.

You need to completely uninstall Office 2011 by using the Microsoft Instructions located here. Unless you do it exactly according to the MS instructions, the error will not go away. After removing Office 2011, reinstall. Make sure you have your product ID on hand for activation.

Microsoft office 2011

Since installing the last up dte I cannot open saved excel or doc files in Microsoft office, but can open them using numbers or pages. When trying to open them in office 2011, i get Messages as follows" 1.The file name or path contains invalid characters. or 2.The Open XML file passwords.docx cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents or the file name might contain invalid characters (for example V>.
I have complete uninstalled Office 2011 and re-installed following the instructions, and the same thing happens. Why is it I can open these saved files with Numbers and pages, but not with office 11?
Powerpoint files open ok
