Mac Pro 3,1 freezing ONLY when ethernet cable connected to new modem.

All usb, firewire 400, 800 and e-sata all worked no problem. It only acted up when i plugged in the Ethernet cable.</p><p></p><p>Every peripheral is plugged back in and it works.</p><p></p><p>It's my internet ports.</p><p></p><p>My internet company sent me a new modem, due to constant connection drop outs and slow speed. This new modem now has 5g capabilities as well as a slower 2.4g speed. When the Ethernet cable is connected, then it's acting all wonky and programs freeze and I when my dock comes up I can't click certain apps (FCP, Firefox, etc).</p><p></p><p>Does this make sense? Could my new modem or internet speed be giving me these issues?</p><p></p><p>I tried both Ethernet ports, and the same results.</p><p></p><p>I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.</p><p></p><p>Any help would be appreciated!!</p><p></p><p>PS - i'm posting this with my MBP.
