MAC OS X switches to Classic at startup

Hi,

Whenever my client's machine starts up, it always starts to go into classic mode, and he has to cancel out of it. Does anyone know how to correct this problem?

some how get to OSX, and then go to system preferences, then click on start up disk. Select the OSX10.?.? (what ever version he has or wants) and click restart just to be sure it worked.

Sounds like it's starting in OS X, then starting up Classic? If so, under System Preferences, open up the Classic pane, and de-select the "Start Classic on Log-in" (or something similar) box.

If it's going into OS 9 (not booting into X at all), you should be able to choose OS X under Startup Disk. Just wait for the computer to display the startup options, the OS X folder should pop up.

If reselecting the startup disk doesn't work try updating the firmware; if that doesn't work zap the PRAM. Otherwise you'll have to resort to one of the repair utilities.
