mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63) connection to wifi problem

Hi, I have a Macbook and it has a problem in connecting to wifi. Everytime i connect to the wifi, an error will appear. A connection timeout Occured. What is the problem? Is it easier to reformat the Mac? Thanks.

1.What version of MacOSX are you using and the model of Macbook
2. Check the About This Mac
3.Look for System report
4. See the detail for Wi Fi

Could not join" "
A connection timeout occured
thats the error.

Make sure you have internal WiFi on the System Info I mentioned earlier.
Next go to System Preference and click on the Network.
This will show a list of Connection on the left side
Ethernet 1 or 2 in green or red for in use or not
Have a look for the internal Wi Fi and click on that and wait to see if this goes active. If so then click Assist Me for diagnosis.

I already try the assist me, in the advance button I also try to remove the remembered network and add again but still its not working.

i can tell you why.

on newer macintoshes they don't accept connections from older routers time to upgrade your wifi router you need a n n+ or g router that is mac compatible
