Hi -I have just brought a new mac mini and currently having a little issue that is driving me nuts... Please help.

I have configured the mini and have plex running no issues, I don't have a permanent keyboard and mouse connected as I want to use rowmote pro (iPad2) to control the system, I used my keyboard and mouse from my iMac when first configuring it and have now removed them from the Bluetooth devices (as they are being used by my iMac).

The problem I am having at the moment is; if left unsed it seems a screensaver with login is kicking in from somewhere even though this is setup to never, automatic login is also setup. If the screen locks it knows no keyboard is connected and won't let me use my iPad to control it so I can't get back into the desktop without fully powering down... Is there something I am missing as I am new to the mac world.

Thank you in advance - loving my macs bigtime as well, have moved from a popcorn device and windows to mac :D loving both

I had the same problem. My Mac Mini is attached to my HDTV and everytime I watched a movie, the lock screen would come up. Very annoying.

I've traced the problem so here's what you need to do. Not only do you need to turn off the password setting, you also have to go into Desktop/screensaver and look at the screensaver settings. One of which overwrites the fact you may have switched the password feature off in the security settings.

Once you uncheck that, all will be fine!
