I was easily able to set up my Company email using Entourage but I can't get it to work in Mac Mail. I have found a few threads on here and indeed elsewhere which all make it sound pretty straightforward.

I have tried everything but I still can't connect to the server, I am the only Mac user in the Company and I have totally alienated the IT Company who handle the server (he told me when I initially requested the settings that he had no Mac experience and didn't want any and didn't like them, I found that very helpful).

Surely if I can get it to work with Entourage (After a simple set-up wizard) then it should wok with Mail.

10.6 (Snow Leopard) has Exchange support for Mail - albeit no public folders but works for the most part.

Yes I know Snow supports Exchange but getting it to work is another thing. The fact it works in Entourage is making it even more difficult and very frustrating trying to understand why I can't connect to the server through Mail.

Your company may be using an older version of Exchange (Snow Leopard only works with Exchange 2007, and even then some Exchange service packs are required on top of that.)

Really, though, if Entourage is working, then you won't get much more by switching to Mail/iCal with Exchange.

Yes I think they are using an older version, as I said I have a communications problem with them now. I don't like Entourage and much prefer to use Mail which probably has less features but integrates better with other Mail Apps.
