MacPro is our only solution After experiencing RAM and hard drive limitations trying to run Photoshop on a series of laptop PCs, I bought a MacPro 20 months ago. We're still loading up RAM beyond capacity but a PC simply couldn't keep up with our photo editing. Yet, after having PC's since 1981, I've never spent so much time trying to figure out and fix problems on a home computer as I have with this Mac. I'm continuing to have problems with disappearing drives. At one point, five of my six internal drives weren't visible on desktop or Finder. Apple geniuses couldn't help me, Apple tech support phone service couldn't help either. The only solution that worked was my own decision to copy the files (not drive) to another drive, reformat the problem drive and move the files (not drive) back. Then the drive was visible again. When I copied the whole drive (Carbon Copy, SuperDuper), it copied the invisible bit and made the target drive invisible too. All-in-all, there's nothing else that I'm aware of that can handle Photoshop like a MacPro. so I'm not going back to PC's anytime soon.
