So, my new MBP arrived today...when going through the set up it asks if you wish to move things from another MAC you own. Hey, sure why not that sounds cool.
So you follow the prompts and hook up a firewire line from the MBP to the desktop and it quickly tells you that you do not have enough harddrive space on the MBP...
duh of course not the MBP only has a 120 Gig HD...do you go and move a few un-needed items from your user folders.
Go back in and start the process over, walk away and play a board game with your daughter for an hour...when you return and log in to the MBP its just like sitting down at the desktop.
What a wonderful migration. All my applications, favorites, email settings...you name it its there.
Could not have been easier.
