Mac -> HDTV.....yellow screen?

So I went to plug my iMac to the HDTV I have using the computer to DVI cord, which connects to the DVI to HDMI converter which then goes to the HDMI cable to my TV....

But the screen is all yellow and green. I mean the pictures there, just messed up. The converter and the HDMI cord are brand new, the other cord I have had for awhile now. Is this a cord problem, or a iMac problem?

Also, I tested my TV with my PS3 to see if it was the TV itself, crystal clear picture with the TV, no issue with it.

sounds like an issue with a part of the cable. did you use a different cable for the PS3?

What you're seeing is typical of a bad connection. Unplug everything and plug it all back in. Yes, even if it all looks like it's plugged in tight.

If it still is not working:

You're using a combination of three cables/adapters?

What iMac do you have?

Used the same HDMI to test it with the PS3

Yes a combination of 3 cables :
1 - Computer Mini DVI (not sure of the exact name) to DVI Cord
2 - DVI to HDMI cord
3 - Regular HDMI cord to the TV

I tried unplugging and replugging in thing a few times with no good results.

My next move is to buy a new Mini DVI to DVI cord for the back of the computer, unless I get another suggestion...

Never use more than a combination of two when the option is available.

First thing to do is verify the HDMI cable works by attaching it to another device in the same port on the TV that you're using for the computer.

If it does , then I'd replace the two adapters with a single mini-DVI to HDMI adapter.

^ Got one in today.

Set everything up...same exact problem. I'm ******.

I've eliminated the TV from what could be wrong.
The HDMI cord is brand new and I tested it with the PS3 with no problems
The new iMac to HDMI cord is like I said, brand new.

The screen is still green (sorry, it's green, not yellow). Why??????

I'd be trying it on a different TV - after looking inside the port on the Mac to see if you can tell if there are any bent pins.

It's a pain to move everything to a different tv....what if the issue is with the imac?

The only things you've got left to do is continue the troubleshooting - next step is try another TV and after that take it Apple.

When you're getting an off color like that, it's typically bad cabling, bent pins or something that's preventing all the info from being delivered to the TV. It's really pretty rare for it to be the connector on the device, though it's not unheard of.

Well the Tv is good....the cables are all brand new....

iMac is the problem? Not really liking the take it to apple idea since it's over an hour away and they're probably going to charge $1000000 to fix it.
