I have the small charger that takes two AA batteries. I use these for the (bluetooth) Magic Mouse. Now, instead of the orange light remaining on until they have charged, it flashes on and off. Is this an indication that the two rechargeable batteries have had their day? Or is it indicating a poor contact? I guess that as long as the orange light is flashing, charging is NOT taking place. Thanks in advance.

I've had that happen before with a similar charger. IIRC, in the case of my charger, the orange light started as an indication of poor contact, but eventually, no amount of reseating the batteries would fix the problem. I ended up replacing the batteries and charger.

One thing you can try that might help. Insert the batteries and plug in the charger. If the light is orange, reseat the batteries and spin them. The charging lights may suddenly turn green. I never had to go more than one turn.

OK and thanks for the tip.
In the end, I had to put the batts in one at a time ... if I tried with two, but it kept blinking.
But now OK even if a bit slower

I have had situations in the past where one or more charging bays in a charger were starting to fail. Might I suggest trying one of the batteries and see if it starts charging? If it does, try the same battery in a different bay and continue until you've tested each available spot.

The chargers where I've had one or more bays fail were not the really basic ones that only take one size battery but I suppose anything's possible.
