Most likely not a problem Apple upgrading the Mac-Mini to a faster Apple Silicon CPU soon (late this year/early next year)...and it not impacting other products....for 2 reasons:
1. A CPU upgrade to M1x or M2 is rumored to only be on the higher end Mac-Mini's (maybe only the highest end model...maybe the middle model too)...but low end Mac-Mini would remain with an M1 CPU.
2. Apple is expected to upgrade all other Mac models with an M1x or M2 CPU Q3/Q4 this year (MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, etc.)...thus they would be equally as fast (or faster) than all of the current Mac-Mini models.
The M1 Mac-Mini was released last November...many product cycles are around 12 months (sometimes longer/shorter). A newer/faster Mac-Mini in November 2021 or later would not be surprising.
Also never know...Apple could play around with the number of cores on the "M" series CPU's...to make the CPU faster in some models. There's talk that Apple is working on "M" series CPU's for a new Mac Pro desktop with 32 cores (or more)!
