Lost part of my sound

I've got a G5 with OS X 10.4.11
My problem is I can hear all the normal sound the computer makes, ie. getting mail, trash, etc... listen to music on iTunes. But I can't hear any audio from the internet, even .wmv files stored on the HD.
I downloaded Windows Media Player 9 and Flip4Mac, but nothing has helped.

I have noticed losing sound lately on the MB on occasion myself.In fact I went to the Apple store today with the problem of losing sound in a iMovie clip I had made.She probably thought I was hitting on her as the sound worked once I walked into the store.She did like the video though,in fact getting her own copy via iDisk.She also snowboards so that is a plus!!!!

Ahem...back on topic,the reps there recommended to me to update Leopard as there was a update last week...And it might help.
