As the title says...looking to buy one of them. The HP finally took a dump and somehow decided to short-circuit itself, with a bad smell to follow it.
-It has to be in great condition(no scratches).
It does't have to be a notebook, it can be a desktop, but a Macbook/Pro/Air is preferred.

Just asking to clarify your needs/wants:

- You're talking a used computer I assume?
- Do you have a limit on how "old" it can be? Such as no older than a 2008 model...or no older than a 2009 model?
- You already have a 15" MBP (listed in your profile)...are you needing a 2nd laptop?
- Do you have any maximum price limits (maximum budget)?

Just trying to help in case you have some definite parameters you wanted to stay within.:)

Good luck,

- Nick

This isn't for me, it's for my dad. He's been using the HP DV8230 until it died. My dad doesn't really need it for much heavy duty work, so I assume age would go hand-in-hand with processing power, which isn't too important, but as always, newer is better. No budget, just want a good deal, and would rather look here first for one.

Oh yeah, my computers are off limits for them! :D

I see...totally understandable. I'm in a similar "boat"...I just purchased a used Windows laptop for my father-in-law as an upgrade for his even older Windows laptop.

Since your dad is familiar using a Windows laptop...how do you think he's going to do with switching to a Macintosh & the Mac OS?

Honestly, my dad has been getting real ticked with needing to purchase antivirus for Windows, so he's actually been the one pushing me to find one, but he also does''t really want to spend the money on a new one when he really only uses it for financial things, which is another reason he want's to switch to Apple...he doesn't feel secure. Another reason why he wants a Mac is because I have been nice enough to let him use my computers sometimes, and he like them.

Hello iggibar,

Sent you a PM, regarding a possibly iMac 17" computer being available?

Thanks!

Have a nice day,
