Hi all :) I am currently a pc user and I am looking to make the switch. I'm looking buy a 27" iMac for editing in programs like Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Boujou, etc. The main thing I am conserned about is if I should upgrade to the 8bg of RAM rather than the regular 4. If you have any other things you would like to know before giving your input ask me.

I have 8 GB installed in my new iMac but I chose to do it myself with after market memory from OWC. Apple charges too much overhead for their memory. Installing memory in an iMac is a very easy do it yourself project that should take at most 10 minutes.

Thanks! What do you think I should go with for my processor? I will mainly be working with 720p video in After Effects and Final cut

The entry level 27" iMac has plenty of horsepower for that, but if you have the extra $$ this time of year, order the better model with more powerful graphics.
