I want to lock just one folder. I don't want anyone else to open this folder when they are on my mac. Is there a way to just password protect just one folder? as-suppose to creating a new acctount. Thanks!!

You can create a Disk Image of the folder and password protect it (make sure not to add the pw to the keychain). Otherwise use a third-party app. like Altomac

How to Password Protect a Folder on the Mac:

1.) Open up the "Disk Utility" application
2.) File -> New -> Disk Image from Folder...
3.) Choose a folder to protect
4.) Choose "AES-128" encryption and press Save
5.) Enter your desired new password twice (Do not forget it.)

As mentioned above .... don't add the password to your keychain.

Keychain is a tool to make your life easy. Usually it will remember the pws you use and let you login automatically.
