Loading Linux on a Mac

Just wondering if it possible to load versions of linux on mac hardware, like dual-boot with windows machines.

If possible, how?

It is possible but beyond the scope of what can easily be covered on a forum. Decide which distro you want to use and see if they have a walk through. Both YDL and Ubuntu have at least basic instructions. I have not investigated an of the other PPC Linux distros.

both yellow dog and redhat run quite well on macs, though as usual, a separate partition is required per os.

Yellow Dog is actually just Red Hat ported to the PPC. I have used YDL and it works very well. I suggest going over to the forums on linuxiso.org, they have a forum dedicated to YDL.

What's the point of having a Mac if you're just going to put Linux on it? I mean linux is a great OS, but that's what Intel/AMD systems are for ;)
