Older MacBook Pro models did not have a mini display port output which the Cinema display takes. You would need to determine which video output port your MBP has. I'm not sure if there is an adapter for older MBP models to convert the DVI output to the newer mini display port standard which is required by the Apple cinema display.

The Apple cinema display is top of the line (it should be for $899) and looks great, however, in that price range and maybe for less, you can buy a comparable display.

Regards.

My backbook pro just has 2 years, so it has a normal dvi.

Does i need to get an adapter? Will the screen lose quality?

my laptop is mate, not glossy

do you think it's a good monitor to spend 14h a day in front of the pc?

The problem is that with other monitors i can't even get expose to work

also i can get this monitor at $760 almost has new when the price here at portugal is 1,184$

thanks.

There are no DVI to mini displayport adapters.

You will need a converter like this.

Personally, would not recommend an Apple display, particularly without a computer that has mini displayport output.
