Kyocera printer not printing - easy solution?

Hi,

I have a Kyocera FS1041. When I first got it it would connect, but not print.

Downloaded all drivers etc, with no success.

An engineer eventually made me do something really simple like disconnect, turn off, reconnect, in a certain order, and it worked.

I now have a new mac - same printer, same problem. But I can't remember what he made me do.

Ring any bells with anyone?

Thanks

Jack

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Maybe go into System Preferences of whatever operating system you are using, helps enormously if you provide that, on which ever Mac you use, ditto, Printers & Scanners > Print, highlight the Kyocera in the l.h.pane and hit the little (-) button. Reboot your computer, turn on and connect the Kyocera via USB. Back into Printers & Scanners and hit the little (+) button and see if your printer is selected.

Hi Harry, thanks for replying.

We're on El Capitan OSX 10.11.

We can add the printer ok - and we can even send documents to it - they appear in the print queue, but the printer does nothing and the job disappears from the queue.

The guy from Kyocera (tech support now closed) gave me a really simple solution, but I can't remember it!
