Keychain Password Change

I use a VPN service and when I attempt to login to the VPN is asks me for my Keychain password. But the password I think it is does not work. I looked up online how to change it but after I reset it and attempt "Change Password for Keychain "login"" the box does not come up. Any ideas what I am doing wrong

Your Keychain password should be the same as your Admin password that you have set up for your Mac. Did you try that?

As chscag says it's the admin password, however I have found occasionally it won't accept the password for some reason and I usually end up giving up

Well I thought so too but my Admin P/W was not accepted even though when the Hint was shown I typed in the P/W according to the Hint! Let me start at the beginning! Due to some corruption on my MacBookPro I had to restore by installing a clean IOS. Had no success installing from Time Machine so I chose the New OS installation option. After several hours it was installed and I assumed I could download everything from iCloud but then came the Keychain problem and my p/w was not accepted. I was reluctant to chose going to the default option and therefore deleting all stored in the keychain. I cannot open iCloud from my MacPro, P/W not accepted so I tried from my wife's MacAir and I can gain entry and check my files but cannot find the stored keychain. I also looked on my external TimeMachine backup using the MacAir but that is not straight forward and not sure where to look! Any ideas please?

For me Keychain is as reliable as Apple ID, Spotlight and the cloud.

It seem I have a greater problem now since I got the notification to restart for an update and since doing so I just get a blue screen! I started the computer by pressing Option/Alt Tab and the result showing the patritions were as follows:
Mac HD, Recovery Disk, Time Machine and Windows.
I had unmounted the Bootcamp previously thinking that the Windows installation would have been deleted too (after running Disk Manager) but it appears that the Windows section must be remaining and this is could be why the MAC IOS is having a problem booting.
The question now is how can I delete this Windows OS and hopefully get my Mac IOS running?

The Keychain has its own password separate from your login password. It certainly can be set the same, but it can be different. I think it’s separate since it can be synced to multiple Macs or iDevices, and even multiple users on the same Mac.

If you are getting a blue screen, then it is trying to boot Windows. Shut down your Mac, wait a minute, then power it on. Immediately press and hold the option key. Keep holding it until you get a list of bootable volumes, then select the Mac HD.

Run the Boot Camp Assistant to delete the partition.

Alrighty, so I need to correct myself since this was largely incorrect. Normally, the Keychain password is the same password as your login password. But!... if you change your login password, the Keychain password does not automatically switch to that new one in some situations, like if another admin user resets your user login password. In these cases, your Keychain will still be using your old login password. The article I linked to explains what to do. I totally misinterpreted this previously. From reading around, it appears that this behavior has slightly changed over time, but you were never able to deliberately set a password for the Keychain that was separate from your user login password. My bad! Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

I took my Macbook to the nearest Apple agent and the helpful Tech examined the machine and discovered that the problem lay with a defective Graphic card and since my machine is Late 2011 model, Apple no longer support this and therefore the machine is a dud unless I can find a company outside official Apple support norms. I'm now researching this and looks like I'll be posting the machine for repair to someone in Germany. It appears a complicated repair for an amateur even with YouTube help!
