ok, this is my second mbp. I got it on september 7th and since then have gotten 22 kernel panics. I am getting sick and tired of this. I took it to the apple store and they refused to replace it and give me a new laptop saying that they need to see it kernel panic first. obviously the 16 (i think it was) panic.log entries wasn't enough for them. it is not a software issue (or at least I can't see how it can be). it kernel paniced straight out of the box, with a clean install. i reinstalled os x, it kernel paniced again. my first mbp was replaced for the same issue (after they first replaced the logic board, which didn't fix it). I would give the apple store here my laptop, but unfortunately I'm in college, and I NEED my computer here every single day. I'll post a few of the entries (panic.log is now 30kb, and probably like 1000 lines or something ridiculous. not all of the kernel panics are unresolved kernel traps, but most of them are. if anyone can decipher this (the genius at the apple store couldn't) I would very much appreciate it. ********* Wed Oct 3 19:59:04 2007 panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A4A55): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 0, Type 14=page fault), registers: CR0: 0x80010033, CR2: 0x00009f08, CR3: 0x0133d000, CR4: 0x000006e0 EAX: 0x05192ba0, EBX: 0x00000020, ECX: 0x004b0958, EDX: 0x08956aa0 CR2: 0x00009f08, EBP: 0x259ebc48, ESI: 0x1aebdff2, EDI: 0x0447e2c0 EFL: 0x00010286, EIP: 0x08956add, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x00000010 Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x259eba18 : 0x128d08 (0x3cc0ec 0x259eba3c 0x131de5 0x0) 0x259eba58 : 0x1a4a55 (0x3d2524 0x0 0xe 0x3d1d48) 0x259ebb68 : 0x19aeb4 (0x259ebb80 0x206 0x259ebbd8 0x1416ad) 0x259ebc48 : 0x3c1e4a (0x447e2c0 0x73ffcc0 0x0 0x3c20a5) 0x259ebc68 : 0x3c2840 (0x73ffcc0 0x0 0x0 0x0) 0x259ebca8 : 0x3c28ad (0x73ffcc0 0xa018dc0 0x7a99200 0x1628d8) 0x259ebce8 : 0x3875d8 (0x7463d80 0x0 0x259ebd28 0x3c1fb8) 0x259ebd08 : 0x38adf7 (0x8fb2980 0x9f44c40 0x0 0x8fb2980) 0x259ebd28 : 0x3b23e4 (0x8fb2980 0x9f44c40 0x259ebd58 0x3bef8f) 0x259ebd78 : 0x188511 (0x8fb2980 0x75fdeb4 0x75fdec8 0x11cc32) 0x259ebdb8 : 0x12b4c3 (0x76b20b4 0x75fde98 0x0 0x0) 0x259ebdf8 : 0x124b17 (0x76b2000 0x0 0x18 0x259ebedc) 0x259ebf08 : 0x195a42 (0x259ebf44 0x0 0x0 0x0) 0x259ebfc8 : 0x19b32e (0x40400a0 0x0 0x19e0b5 0x40400a0) No mapping exists for frame pointer Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0xb011e448 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.10.3: Wed Jun 27 23:29:36 PDT 2007; root:xnu-792.23.3~1/RELEASE_I386 ********* Thu Oct 4 09:08:15 2007 panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A4A55): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 0, Type 14=page fault), registers: CR0: 0x80010033, CR2: 0x0000000c, CR3: 0x0133d000, CR4: 0x000006e0 EAX: 0x03f60420, EBX: 0x00000020, ECX: 0x004b0958, EDX: 0x03f67ce0 CR2: 0x0000000c, EBP: 0x25883c48, ESI: 0x00000004, EDI: 0x04278f40 EFL: 0x00010202, EIP: 0x0000000c, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x00000010 Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x25883a18 : 0x128d08 (0x3cc0ec 0x25883a3c 0x131de5 0x0) 0x25883a58 : 0x1a4a55 (0x3d2524 0x0 0xe 0x3d1d48) 0x25883b68 : 0x19aeb4 (0x25883b80 0x202 0x25883bd8 0x1416ad) 0x25883c48 : 0x3c1e4a (0x4278f40 0x3fcc4c0 0x0 0x3c20a5) 0x25883c68 : 0x3c2840 (0x3fcc4c0 0x0 0x0 0x0) 0x25883ca8 : 0x3c28ad (0x3fcc4c0 0x43c4bc0 0x4413c00 0x1628d8) 0x25883ce8 : 0x3875d8 (0x40e6180 0x0 0x25883d28 0x3c1fb8) 0x25883d08 : 0x38adf7 (0x40e5d80 0x43b20c0 0x0 0x40e5d80) 0x25883d28 : 0x3b23e4 (0x40e5d80 0x43b20c0 0x25883d58 0x3bef8f) 0x25883d78 : 0x188511 (0x40e5d80 0x79d40b4 0x79d40c8 0x11cc32) 0x25883db8 : 0x12b4c3 (0x79d1ab4 0x79d4098 0x0 0x0) 0x25883df8 : 0x124b17 (0x79d1a00 0x0 0x18 0x25883edc) 0x25883f08 : 0x195a42 (0x25883f44 0x0 0x0 0x0) 0x25883fc8 : 0x19b32e (0x4968680 0x0 0x19e0b5 0x3ead91c) No mapping exists for frame pointer Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0xb011e448 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.10.3: Wed Jun 27 23:29:36 PDT 2007; root:xnu-792.23.3~1/RELEASE_I386 ********* Sat Oct 6 14:13:47 2007 panic(cpu 1 caller 0x001A4A55): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 1, Type 14=page fault), registers: CR0: 0x8001003b, CR2: 0x00000048, CR3: 0x018a9000, CR4: 0x000006e0 EAX: 0x00000000, EBX: 0x0061c9af, ECX: 0x3d207240, EDX: 0x3d207d60 CR2: 0x00000048, EBP: 0x25dbbcd8, ESI: 0x242f6000, EDI: 0xffff0000 EFL: 0x00010206, EIP: 0x3d1ea3ea, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x05160010 Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x25dbbad8 : 0x128d08 (0x3cc0ec 0x25dbbafc 0x131de5 0x0) 0x25dbbb18 : 0x1a4a55 (0x3d2524 0x1 0xe 0x3d1d48) 0x25dbbc28 : 0x19aeb4 (0x25dbbc40 0x4b280c 0x1 0x0) 0x25dbbcd8 : 0x3d1de426 (0x4ff1c00 0x0 0x3d1eb365 0x3bef13) 0x25dbbcf8 : 0x3d1eb6b7 (0x242f6000 0x61c9af 0x6146004 0x3bee79) 0x25dbbd18 : 0x3b2baf (0x6146000 0x61c9af 0x538e88c 0x538e890) 0x25dbbd68 : 0x18a0de (0x6146000 0xf 0x90cd6c4 0x1) 0x25dbbdb8 : 0x12b4c3 (0x90cd69c 0x538e864 0x0 0x0) 0x25dbbdf8 : 0x124b17 (0x90cd600 0x0 0x30 0x25dbbedc) 0x25dbbf08 : 0x195a42 (0x25dbbf44 0x0 0x0 0x0) 0x25dbbfc8 : 0x19b32e (0x9ac5680 0x0 0x10 0x9ac5680) No mapping exists for frame pointer Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0xbfffd838 Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies): com.apple.GeForce(5.0.6)@0x3d19d000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.2)@0x35e94000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(1.4.7)@0x3cc75000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(1.4.7)@0x3cc90000 dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(5.0.6)@0x3cc9f000 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.10.3: Wed Jun 27 23:29:36 PDT 2007; root:xnu-792.23.3~1/RELEASE_I386 *********
