Just wondering, how much is this 30gig (loaded) hard drive????

Ok Kiddos,

I got a hard drive sitting here,
im thinking of putting it on ebay in the near future, but i want to know if its even worth putting on ebay and shipping and all that jazz.

Its a 30gb quantum fireball,
and im not a hard drive expert at all so i dont know any of the specs.

It has 10.4.6 on it,
With included applications:

Microsoft Office 2004
Adobe Photoshop CS
Toast 8 Titanium
Stuffit 11

Along with some shareware stuff out there like

Mp3 Alarm clock
Turbo Mem
Limewire
AOL
AIM
SuperDuper
XJNB
FetchArt
And itunes 6 with 285 songs, ranging from beyonce to avenged sevenfold.

I have some downloaded widgets too,
Downloaded desktops and screen savers,
and all that.

I know that people with iMac and eMac g3s without a DVD drive installed find it expensive and difficult to upgrade to Tiger,
So im sure that someone may want it off ebay.


So, if i wanted to put it on ebay,

Just in a ballpark, how much should i be able to ask for a reasonable price????

preloaded software is illegal to sell and m-f does not condone any illegal activity

skye is right, it would be illegal to sell the drive with all the software preloaded unless you have the person pay to transfer your licenses (which effectively means paying for the software). You may face a problem here as some applications don't let you transfer licenses. Also, there is no legal way for you to sell those songs, so you would have to remove them in order to sell the drive.

I suggest you format the thing and then try to sell it as that would be the only legal means for you to do so.

So, if i bought a PowerMac g4 off ebay with Panther and a whole bunch of other software,(((which i did 2 days ago)), would that be illegal of me buying it?

Not really illegal for you to buy it. Most sellers get around this by either stating or assuming that you are buying the hardware and the software comes free. If you paid extra for it then I feel that the seller is wrong here. Unless I get boxed software, I'm not buying it, but that's just me.

Depends on the software. Apple tends to include a lot of software with its computers. So if the seller wiped the drive and did a fresh install, it should come with the OS and whatever software Apple preloaded. You should have also received the installation discs, which would have made the deal perfectly legal.

However, if the seller included third-party software that's not part of the factory installation, and didn't send the original discs for the software, then yes, it would be illegal for you to use it. It's essentially the same thing as downloading the software.
