Where was it purchased from...and if not from an Apple Store...how was it advertised (link us)?

And to add some extra detail...Apple is still sellng refurbished 2017 21.5" iMac's...but there has been a 2019 21.5" iMac released (newest model 21.5" iMac).:)

Well, where did you buy the iMac and was the computer really 'new' or a 'refurb'? Just bought my wife a new iMac last month from the Apple website (same display size) - going to the Apple > About This Mac shows the information below, i.e. 2019 - Dave :)

It doesn't say refurb.

If your "About this Mac" says it's a 2017 model, then the Apple Store sold you an older model that's new in the box. That is highly unusual for an Apple Store to do. Take it back and ask for the 2019 model which is better equipped than the 2017 version. You can return it under the extended Christmas returns policy and the return can be made until next month.

Well, if you purchased it from the Apple site and picked it up in the store, then you should have no regrets. However, you can still return it to an Apple store and get the 2019 model instead. Of course it's going to cost you more $$.

Hi again Fiery - out of curiosity (and only if you want to share), what was the difference in price between the 2017 & 2019 21.5 inch models? I'm assuming that you picked the older machine and that was the one picked up at your local store? If you decide to return the 2017 iMac for the newer one (and if the budget is adequate), consider getting a SSD rather than the fusion drive - my wife's new iMac (shown in my previous post) has a 512 GB SSD. Good luck in your decision. Dave :)

I returned the 2017 and got the 2019. BIG difference in speed and clarity. 1,193 vs 1,629. I got the fusion drive works great.
