Why is my Macbook come to be called "Jacob's MacBook (4)" See screen dump of the System Report.
In the Finder, there are now both "Jacob MacBook (2)", ".... (3)" and "... (4)"

i have the same issue on my iMac and macbook since updating both to yosemite

this got rid of several devices numbered (2) (3) etc showing up in shared devices but hasn't stopped my iMac from having some random number applied to it under devices

This is also, apparently, tied to "Wake for Network Access" if you keep seeing you computer name change (which you can disable in System Preferences > Energy Saver > Power Adapter).
