You do not indicate what iPhone you have or what version of iOS it is running.  Next you don't say why you did a factory reset but when you did it would most likely reverted back to watchOS 3.0.  The max watchOS a series 1 will update to is 6.3.  Since the current version is watch 8.4.2 I imagine that is at least part of the issue with updating your watch.  The series 1 was discontinued in 2018 but it is still supported by Apple.  If you have an apple store near you taking it in might be the answer.  The other option is call apple and see what they have to suggest.  Lisa</blockquote>
