iTunes song directory problems.

2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo
I'm adding my files to iTunes from my hdd. How come all my songs that ive added yesterday are saying "location not found" even though i got my disk plugged in?

Just now I loaded itunes and selected my music folder from my drive and chose it to be my itunes folder. I have it selected so that itunes wont copy all the stuff again taking up double space. i selected "do not organize my drive the same as itunes" and it proceeded to update my library. i go over to a song that previously wasnt found/hadnt been found and it still hadnt been found.
